October marks international breast cancer awareness month. Although the focus is on breast cancer, PinkDrive, would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank their donors, sponsors and supporters, and encourage all to also focus on other cancers, especially those to which our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and grandmothers succumb.
Noelene Kotschan, CEO and Founder of PinkDrive explains that if it wasn’t for the goodwill of South African corporates and individual citizen supporters, they would not have been able to deliver their FREE cancer screening services to the indigent and medically uninsured in South Africa.
“We started from humble beginnings. Now, almost ten years later, we are not only taking the much needed cancer screening services to the indigent and medically uninsured of our country, we have included additional services such as HIV Screening etc., by collaborating with other like-minded and like-focused organisations. None of this would not have been possible if it weren’t for the goodwill and support of so many. I am thankful!”
PinkDrive welcomes their first woman Chairperson to their board, Ms. Deshnee Naidoo, CEO of Vedanta Zinc South Africa. Deshnee has pledged her support to PinkDrive and their fight against breast cancer. Noelene says that PinkDrive is looking forward to this new era and with Deshnee as part of the team. “Deshnee will bring a wealth of insight, experience, passion and drive to the table and we look forward to achieving further new heights together, as we reach deeper and further into the mining sector of South Africa.”
PinkDrive also welcomes back Dr. Ashwin Hurribunce to the Board. Dr. Hurribunce who is not unknown in the medical space as well as business, will again be contributing invaluable expertise and guidance to the organisation. Dr. Hurribunce takes up the new position of Deputy Chairperson of PinkDrive.
